Golden Gate Rowing

Row’d Royalty was born in 2012 in California. Several athletes claimed to be the “Best rower in the gym” and were eager to prove themselves. All members were encouraged to participate, even if only for fun. The response was incredible, and everyone had a blast – because anyone can row!  

Now, Row’d Royalty is open to the whole CrossFit community and beyond. Let’s find out who the best rowers are in our Affiliates, Community, and the World! Each week for 4 weeks a rowing workout will be announced. You’ll have 4 days to complete the workout and submit your score.

The Original Row’d Royalty

There will be different rowing workouts tested over the 4 weeks. The workouts have been chosen to distinguish the best OVERALL rower, not just the best sprinter or endurance athlete. Every Thursday the workout for the week will be announced. Keep in mind, there may be multiple distances rowed during one week’s workout. The ONLY piece of equipment you need is a Concept 2 Indoor Rower with a PM3,  PM4, or PM5 Monitor.

Scores are due the following Monday at 5:00 PM PST. (1st workout is due on July 10th)

Row’d Royalty was created to build excitement for indoor rowing, introduce members to the fun of competing, and celebrate the top rowers in the community.

  • Hold an in-house competition using the RR scoreboard & reward the weekly winners and most improved!
  • Host a rowing skills clinic in your box for members.
  • Lock in a day & time for everyone to complete the RR workout together – sharing tips and strategies.
  • Share top results on social media and the blog – including most improved.
  • Recognize the rookies! Be sure to support and encourage anyone new to competitions.
  • Give a prize to EVERYONE who completes all four workouts.
